Simple AP setup & WiFi management for Debian-based devices

RaspAP is feature-rich wireless router software that [i]just works[/i] on many popular [url=https://docs.raspap.com/#compatible-operating-systems]Debian-based devices[/url], including the Raspberry Pi. Our popular Quick installer creates a known-good default configuration in minutes on all current Raspberry Pis with onboard wireless.

--- Quick start ---

Start with a clean install of the [url=https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/operating-systems/]latest release of Raspberry Pi OS Lite[/url]. Both the 32- and 64-bit release versions are supported. The Raspberry Pi OS Desktop distro is currently [url=https://docs.raspap.com/faq/#distros]unsupported[/url].

Tip

Be sure to use an official power supply with your device. Power supply requirements [url=https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberrypi/power/README.md]differ by Raspberry Pi model[/url]. Inadequate voltage is the source of many WiFi issues.

Update RPi OS to its latest version, including the kernel and firmware, followed by a reboot:

sudo apt-get full-upgrade
sudo reboot[/code]

Set the WiFi country in raspi-config's [b]Localisation Options[/b]: [code=text,0,1]sudo raspi-config[/code].

Important

Failure to perform this step will prevent the RPi from enabling wireless operation. When this happens, you will see the warning [code=text,0,1]Wi-Fi is currently blocked by rfkill[/code] in the console.

Install RaspAP from your device's shell prompt:

The [url=https://docs.raspap.com/quick/]Quick installer[/url] will complete the steps in the [url=https://docs.raspap.com/manual/]manual installation[/url] for you.

After the reboot at the end of the installation the wireless AP network will be configured as follows:

Your AP's [url=https://docs.raspap.com/ap-basics/]basic settings[/url] and many [url=https://docs.raspap.com/ap-basics/#advanced-options]advanced options[/url] are now ready to be modified by RaspAP.

Tip

If this is [i]not[/i] a clean install or you are configuring a device with a non-standard [url=https://docs.raspap.com/faq/#integrations]integration[/url] it's strongly recommended to follow the [url=https://docs.raspap.com/manual/]manual installation[/url] instructions.
